German FM urges Ukrainian conflicting sides to go back to Minsk accords

ASTANA. Nov 10 (Interfax) - The conflicting sides in Ukraine should resume the fulfillment of the Minsk deal in order to resolve the crisis in their country, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has said.

"Unfortunately, the situation is again serious. I now think that we must call upon all those involved in this conflict, as well as the Russian side, to return again to the terms of the Minsk protocol," he said at a press briefing after negotiations with Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov held in Astana on Monday.

Steinmeier said he intended to meet with the EU foreign policy chief upon his return to Berlin on Monday night.

The minister said he was receiving information from newspapers and news agencies during his stay in Kazakhstan and taking the reports seriously but that was not enough for building a new strategy.
