MOSCOW. Nov 10 (Interfax-AVN) - Russia has shown state-of-the-art surface-to-air missile systems at Indo Defense 2014, the largest arms fair in the Asia-Pacific Region, Russia's Industry and Trade Ministry said.

Indo Defense was held in Jakarta on November 5-8.

"The Industry and Trade Ministry is convinced that military technological cooperation will make a substantial contribution to the attainment of the strategic objective of enlarging trade between Russia and Indonesia by a factor of 1.5 by 2016," the ministry said in a statement made available to Interfax-AVN on Monday.

Organizations that represented Russia at the fair included Rosoboronexport, Uralvagonzavod, Almaz-Antey, United Shipbuilding Corporation, Sukhoi, and Instrument Design Bureau.

Russia showed the S-300VM, Antey-2500, Tor-M2E, Tor-M2KM and Buk-M2E surface-to-air missile systems, and the Komar mounting facility for the Igla portable surface-to-air missile system, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said.

"The Asia-Pacific Region is traditionally the destination of the largest volume of Russian armament exports, accounting for about 60% for the past 10 years. Today countries in the region intensively modernize and re-equip their armed forces and seek to boost their national defense industries. Russia will use any opportunity to promote such military and dual-purpose products and services, and hopes for further mutually beneficial cooperation," the statement said.
