Armenian leader on Nagorno-Karabakh visit
YEREVAN. Nov 13 (Interfax) - Armenian President Serzh Sargsian is visiting the self-proclaimed Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh on Thursday, the head of state's press service has told Interfax.
"President of Armenia and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armenian Armed Forces Serzh Sargsian is paying a working visit to the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh today. Sargsian will visit a number of units of the Nagorno-Karabakh Defense Army together with Nagorno-Karabakh President Bacho Saakyan, the defense ministers of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh and representatives of the supreme command as part of the Unity 2014 joint tactical exercises of Armenia and the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh. He will also assess the combat readiness of the armed forces and will watch a demonstration performance," the press service said.
Earlier today, Sargsian watched live-fire exercises at a training range in northern Armenia.
