Russian-Iranian relations promote global security - Naryshkin
TEHRAN. Nov 17 (Interfax) - Russian-Iranian interactions are an important factor of international stability, Russian State Duma Speaker Sergei Naryshkin said while meeting with Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, chairman of the Iranian Expediency Discernment Council.
"We are equally critical about the actions taken by some Western countries, primarily the actions taken by the U.S., which sometimes disregards the norms of international law and the sovereignty and independence of other countries and interfere in the internal affairs of other countries to pursue its geopolitical interests," Naryshkin said.
Naryshkin said that "Russian-Iranian interaction is an important factor of international stability and global security."
In the meeting with Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on Monday, both sides pointed out "the common wish to protect and maintain the current peace and prevent anyone from violating the principles of international law," Naryshkin said.
