URSC to get new powers
MOSCOW. Nov 17 (Interfax-AVN) - The global reform of space industry enterprises initiated by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin will soon get a new status as a law outlining the new powers of the United Rocket and Space Corporation (URSC) is being prepared to speed up the process, URSC General Director Igor Komarov said.
"I think we will provide to our experts our vision of the strategy of the systemic reform of the rocket and space industry in general before the end of this year. A new law outlining the powers of the URSC is being prepared on the orders of the president," Komarov said.
Komarov said the reform will have several stages.
"At the first stage, which is already over, the URSC received packages of shares in 11 enterprises of the industry. The heads of RSC Energia, RSS and the Khrunichev Center have been replaced," he said.
Komarov said specialists from URSC, the Khrunichev Center and Roscosmos have ordered the Russian government to come up with a system for rejuvenating the Khrunichev Center.
"It is already being implemented because the situation on the enterprise is really critical: no decision has yet been made on the financing of the program. We are also working on the incorporation of some federal state unitary enterprises, which will become part of the URSC at the second stage of the reform," he said.
