Norway to provide budget support to Ukraine - agreement

KYIV. Nov 18 (Interfax) - Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg signed an agreement on budget support to Ukraine in Kyiv on Tuesday, an Interfax correspondent has reported.

Under the agreement signed, Norway will provide financial aid to Ukraine in several tranches within the coming three years, the Ukrainian government's press service told Interfax. The size of the financial package was not given.

Yatsenyuk said at a joint press conference with Solberg that the first tranche will amount to $15 million.

"The first tranche in the budget support package for Ukraine amounts to $15 million. This package is intended for a corresponding budget year. If Ukraine continues advancing along the path of reforms, the agreement-stipulated aid from the Norwegian government will continue," Yatsenyuk said.
