Hungary hopes for resumption of Russia-EU talks on South Stream

MOSCOW. Nov 19 (Interfax) - Hungary counts on the resumption of talks between the EU and Russia on the South Stream gas pipeline project and hopes for their speedy progress.

"The construction of the South Stream gas pipeline will largely promote the energy security of Hungary as well as Central and Eastern Europe," Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said at a press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"Therefore we greatly hope that the talks on the issue between Russia and the EU will resume and proceed sufficiently fast," he said.
