Ukrainian troops lose 1,800 armored vehicles and tanks in Southeast Ukraine - source
MOSCOW/DONETSK. Nov 19 (Interfax-AVN) - The Ukrainian military have lost some 1,800 infantry combat vehicles, armored carriers and tanks in hostilities in the country's southeast, a well-informed source in the joint intelligence structures of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and Luhansk Peoples' Republic (LPR) told Interfax-AVN on Wednesday.
"The losses of armor suffered by Ukrainian military formations since the beginning hostilities in the territories of DPR and LPR as of mid-November totaled about 1,800 units," the source said.
About 500 of them are irreparable losses, the source specified. "We are speaking of fully destroyed infantry combat vehicles, armored carriers and tanks and also the armored vehicles which the militia captured as trophies and use in its own interests," he said.
He said that out of the 500 lost units, some 100 are tanks - T60, T-72 and T-80.
