Luhansk militias report seven civilian deaths from shelling
LUHANSK. Nov 19 (Interfax) - Seven civilians have been killed and two others injured in the Luhansk region as a result of shelling in the past 24 hours, a spokesperson for the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) told Interfax on Wednesday.
Five civilians, including two children, were killed after the entrance to a five-storey building collapsed as a result of shelling in Pervomaysk, the militias said. Also, the shelling of the residential quarters in the city of Kirovsk killed two civilians and damaged a gas pipeline. One house was damaged and two civilians injured during the shelling of Vesyolaya Gora.
The militias accused the Ukrainian army of shelling.
The LPR also reported fighting near the town of Slovyanoserbsk. Militias claim to have killed up to 15 Ukrainian soldiers and destroyed several armored personnel carriers. One militiaman was killed and two sustained heavy injuries, the spokesperson said.
Earlier, Luhansk regional administration spokesman Hennadiy Moskal said that three civilians had been killed and four injured as a result of shelling of the village of Toshkovka on November 18.
The Ukrainian authorities blamed LPR militias for the attack.
