Russia ready for any efficient negotiating format over Ukraine - diplomat

MOSCOW. Nov 20 (Interfax) - Moscow is ready for a dialogue over Ukraine in any format that would help settle the situation in this country, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Titov.

"We are not ruling out any formats, as long as they help the matter," he told reporters in Moscow on Thursday.

For Moscow, the Minsk format remains the priority option in settling the Ukrainian crisis, he said.

"We are not ruling out any format, but there are certain emphases and priorities. In the Minsk format, everything was agreed upon with participation of the (southeastern Ukrainian) regions, and it would be wrong, and most importantly, ineffective to agree upon anything without the regions' participation. The main thing is to establish dialogue under some aegis between Kyiv and the regions, but unfortunately this is not happening yet," the Russian diplomat said.
