Lukoil board approves company's entry into Chevron project in Nigeria

MOSCOW. Nov 21 (Interfax) - The board of directors of Russian oil major Lukoil has approved the company's entry into a project in Nigeria with Chevron, Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov told journalists.

"We are continuing to work actively abroad. The board of directors has approved the decision to enter into a joint project with Chevron in Nigeria. We consider this to be a prospective field where further geological developing will be carried out," he said.

Alekperov added that he had recently visited Mexico. "We held active talks and are preparing for tenders that will be carried out in Mexico: 169 blocks will be put up [for tender] between February through October of next year. We are now working actively on analyzing them and selecting priorities," he said.
