Eurasian Union may serve as bridge between Europe, Asia-Pacific region - Lavrov

MOSCOW. Nov 22 (Interfax) - The Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) will serve as a bridge between Europe and the Asia-Pacific Region in the future, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

"The Eurasian Union will be a very serious element of a bridge between Europe and the Asia-Pacific Region," Lavrov said at an assembly of the Foreign and Defense Policy Council think-tank on Saturday.

While Europe treats this union condescendingly and arrogantly, "a lot of countries [setting up the Eurasian Economic Union] have much more in common than the European Union countries," he added.
