DPR, Kyiv trade shelling accusations

DONETSK/KYIV. Nov 26 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian artillery continues to shell Donetsk residential areas. Several homes and administrative buildings have been damaged in the Kuibyshevsky and Kyivsky districts in the past 24 hours, the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) emergency situations ministry told Interfax on Wednesday.

"A fire broke out in a residential building in the Kuibyshevsky district. A shell destroyed a car wash. In addition, four residential buildings were damaged in the Kuibyshevsky district. An apartment on the ninth floor was hit by a shell. Windows were smashed in a five-storey home and in secondary school No 60," a department spokesman told Interfax.

Seventy-four transformer substations were shut down in the Kuibyshevsky and Leninsky districts and a gas pipe was damaged.

Information about possible casualties is being verified.

In turn, Kyiv claimed 47 militia attacks on Ukrainian army positions over the past day. The army operation press center wrote on Facebook that the militia remained active "in three strategic sectors: Luhansk, Debaltseve and Donetsk."

It also said it was verifying casualty data.

The Ukrainian artillery returned fire and delivered 83 strikes on the militia's positions, the press center said.
