Malaysian Boeing debris to be sent from Kharkiv to Netherlands in batches of 4-5 vehicles
KHARKIV. Nov 28 (Interfax) - The wreckage of the Malaysian Boeing found at the crash site in the Donetsk region will be sent from Kharkiv to the Netherlands next week, Ihor Baluta, head of the Kharkiv region's state administration, said.
"Tomorrow we will begin loading [the debris] into vehicles. The period [of unloading and sending] is five days," Baluta told a briefing at the Kharkiv airport on Friday after the ceremony to send the remains of the crash victims to the Netherlands.
Baluta said some twenty vehicles will be needed to carry the plane debris. All customs procedures will be conducted in Kharkiv. The vehicles will go in motorcades of 4-5 vehicles and will be accompanied by the traffic police and security officials.
Baluta said the goal is to avoid additional unloading of the debris and therefore the vehicles will only be unloaded in a special place in the Netherlands.
