Moldovan parliament speaker hopes for formation of pro-European Cabinet
CHISINAU. Nov 30 (Interfax) - Moldovan parliament speaker Igor Corman believes that the Association Agreement with the EU will become a roadmap for the new parliament and its implementation will promote an increase in living standards.
"I hope that the new parliament will be better, will be more efficient and stable. This will permit us to set up a pro-European Cabinet and work effectively to live up to the expectations of people. The most important thing is to guarantee a stable majority in parliament for four years to carry out good programs and initiatives with which parties run in the elections," he said on Sunday at a polling station in Chisinau where he cast his ballot together with his wife Olga.
Responding to questions from reporters he said he voted "for a better future, for stability, development, for modern, democratic European Moldova."
He urged voters to go to polling stations and vote "for the Moldova they want to see."
"Polls indicate that there is a big number of undecided citizens. If they want that life in the country to become better, they should go and vote. I greatly hope that good, sunny weather will promote the participation citizens in elections, that voting will be massive. People should realize that their votes are important," he said.
