National Defense Control Center important step in national interests - Shoigu
MOSCOW. Dec 1 (Interfax) - The opening of a National defense control center in Russia will significantly raise the efficiency of control over the country's Armed Forces, Russian Defense Minister Army Gen. Sergei Shoigu said at a meeting with senior members of the Russian Armed Forces on Monday.
"Analysis of the current state of the Armed Forces control system shows that its potential is not being used in full. The creation of the Russian National Defense Control Center is an important step towards formation of a common information space for addressing issues in national defense interests," the minister said.
"As a result, the efficiency of control will be raised significantly, the time for decision making and implementation will be cut," Shoigu said.
The head of the Defense Ministry's Main Directorate for Information and Telecommunication Technologies will report to the meeting attendees on the progress being made in this area, the minister said
It was reported that a ceremonial ritual of an operative shift assuming duty at the National Defense Control center was held at the Russian Defense Ministry on Monday.
