OSCE SMM increased by 40 members in two weeks - ministry

KYIV. Dec 2 (Interfax) - The number of members of the Special Monitoring Mission of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE SMM) in Ukraine has increased to 301 people now, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis said.

"On December 1, 301 OSCE SMM monitors representing 39 OSCE members are working in Ukraine," he said at a briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday.

One hundred forty-five monitors are working in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, he said. In all, the mission currently numbers 337 members.

On November 17, the OSCE SMM had 261 monitors working in Ukraine.
