Kazakh-Russian Intergovernmental Commission confers on Eurasian integration issues in Astana

ASTANA. Dec 3 (Interfax) - The Kazakh-Russian Intergovernmental Commission convened in Astana on Wednesday, the Kazakh prime minister's press service said.

The Commission is co-chaired by Kazakh First Deputy Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev and his Russian counterpart Igor Shuvalov.

The sides discussed a broad range of issues, including cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, industries, atomic power, transport, agriculture and migration.

They also analyzed progress in Kazakhstan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) and essential aspects of Eurasian integration.

"The sides pointed to a significant potential for fostering mutually advantageous partnership, including that in the Eurasian Economic Union," the report said.

A protocol of the 17th meeting of the Kazakh-Russian Intergovernmental Commission was signed.
