NDSC denies use of cluster bombs by Ukrainian military

KYIV. Dec 3 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council has denied accusations made by Human Rights Watch, which has accused the Ukrainian military of using cluster bombs in the military operation zone in eastern Ukraine.

"All statements about the use by the Ukrainian military of cluster bombs are ungrounded," NDSC spokesman Andriy Lysenko told Interfax on Wednesday.

Lysenko called on international organizations to be objective in their evaluations and statements and refer to specific evidence instead of making "ungrounded accusations."

"No ballistic tests results and tests of the shells that were allegedly used have been provided and there is no confidence that these munitions are not provocations by the militants because they could have been brought from the territory of Russia," Lysenko said.
