Putin allows police officers to take part in UN peacekeeping missions
MOSCOW. Dec 5 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered to allow the Russian Interior Ministry, upon agreement with the Russian Foreign Ministry, to send its staff to serve as part of the United Nations missions to maintain or restore international peace and security.
The presidential order of December 5 has been posted on the official legal news portal and takes effect from the day of signing.
Under the document, the cost of sending Russian police officers to serve as part of UN missions and their upkeep will be covered at the UN expense.
