Deputy FM Ryabkov: P5+1, Iran to meet before December 20
MOSCOW. Dec 8 (Interfax) - Political directors of the P5+1 group and Iran will convene the next round of their negotiations before December 20, but the meeting's venue has yet to be chosen, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said.
"All I can say for now is that [the round] will take place before December 20. There is no precise date as of yet, it will be chosen in the coming days," the deputy minister told reporters.
As to whether the meeting might be held in Oman, Ryabkov said, "The venue has yet to be chosen, but it will definitely not be Vienna."
The P5+1 group of international mediators assisting in the resolution of the Iranian nuclear problem consists of Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Germany.
The previous round, which started at the level of political directors and was joined by the ministers later, took place in Vienna from 18 to 24 November. A number of sources have said that the next meeting of the political directors would possibly be in Oman in the middle of December.
