There are currently 16 train services between Kazakhstan and Russia, including 10 trains originating in Kazakhstan (KTZ) and six in Russia (Russian Railways), according to the press office.
On December 14, 2014, the train services Novosibirsk-Almaty and Novokuznetsk-Karaganda originating in Russia will be suspended while KZT-run train service Almaty-Novosibirsk continues according to schedule, according to the statement.
It was reported earlier that OJSC Federal Passenger Company, a subsidiary of Russian Railways (RZD) , will only keep running five train services across the CIS from December 14: from Moscow to Chisinau and Brest, from Tomsk to Ridder, from Chelyabinsk and Orenburg to Tashkent.
