Bashneft passes to state ownership

MOSCOW. Dec 9 (Interfax) - Oil producer Bashneft , which had been controlled by Vladimir Yevtushenkov's Sistema holding since 2009, passed into state ownership on December 9, several sources told Interfax.

One source with knowledge of the situation said shares in Bashneft that had been owned by Sistema and CJSC Sistema-Invest were deleted from their accounts with registrar OJSC Reestr and entered on the Russian Federal Property Agency (Rosimuschestvo) account.

Rosimuschestvo confirmed that the Bashneft shared has passed to state ownership. "I can confirm this," a Rosimuschestvo representative told Interfax, when asked whether the shares had really been entered on the agency's account.

Another source in the law enforcement agencies said a seizure that had been imposed on the Bashneft shares had been lifted and that there was no impediment to handing them to the state.
