Lukoil to invest $5 bln in Uzbekistan projects to 2039
TASHKENT. Dec 10 (Interfax) - Russian oil major Lukoil will invest about $5 billion in projects in Uzbekistan before 2039, President Vladimir Putin said at expanded talks with Uzbek President Islam Karimov.
Lukoil is currently developing gas and condensate fields in Bukhara region, Putin said. "The project will run until 2039. In that time, investment of about $5 billion is to be raised. A major gas processing plant with capacity for 8 billion cubic meters a year will also be built," he said.
Lukoil President Vagit Alekperov clarified to Interfax that the $5 billion figure is in addition to the investment already made in the project.
