Russian humanitarian convoy to leave for Donbas at 4:00 a.m. on Friday
VILLAGE OF KOVALYOVKA (Rostov region). Dec 11 (Interfax) - Two convoys carrying humanitarian aid to the people of the Luhansk and Donetsk regions are being formed by the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry's Don Rescue Center.
"The humanitarian cargo will be carried by over 130 vehicles, of which fifty will head to Donetsk and eighty to Luhansk," Alexander Lekomtsev, the head of the Noginsk Rescue Center of the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry, told reporters on Thursday.
"The trucks contain food and the necessary equipment for the restoration of damaged social infrastructure in Donbas."
"The vehicles will carry over 1,000 tonnes of cargo, all in all," he said.
The motorcades will leave the Don Rescue Center at 4:00 a.m. on Friday, Lekomtsev said.
Lekomtsev said the drivers used in this operation have taken humanitarian aid to Donbas before and said he is hoping no emergencies will occur.
