Putin: Moscow and Delhi reach level of close production cooperation in defense industry

DELHI. Dec 11 (Interfax) - Russia and India have reached the level of close cooperation in the production of military hardware, President Vladimir Putin has said.

"I will single out issues of the joint development of a multirole fighter and multipurpose transport aircraft. This is one more step in our joint work," he said at a press conference following his talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Russia "is offering Indian partners products of civilian aircraft-making, namely Sukhoi Superjet-100 and MS-21 aircraft," he said.
