Russian, Iranian diplomats meet
MOSCOW. Dec 15 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov met with Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei on Monday.
Ryabkov and Sanaei discussed "the status quo at the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program" and "some aspects of the bilateral dialogue on armaments control and the nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
The same day Ryabkov had "a fruitful exchange of opinions in a constructive and well-intentioned atmosphere on a wide range of issues of armaments control and nonproliferation of weapons of mass destruction" with Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister Hasan Kleib, the Russian ministry said in another statement.
"Some aspects of BRICS issues were given consideration as well," the ministry said. "Special attention" was paid to the Iranian nuclear program issue and "the status quo at the Conference on Disarmament and in some export control regimes," it said.
