U.S. Ambassador in Kyiv calls for delivery of real humanitarian aid to Donbas

KYIV. Dec 16 (Interfax) - U.S. Ambassador in Kyiv Geoffrey Pyatt calls for resolving problems in the delivery of humanitarian aid to Donbas residents.

Pyatt tweeted on Tuesday that the delivery of all "legitimate humanitarian aid" must be allowed to reach civilians in Donbas. The Ukrainian government reported that the Rinat Akhmetov Fund had brought assistance to thousands of families.

The ambassador expressed hope that other rich Ukrainians would also make an effort and use their resources to help the innocent victims.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian volunteer battalions did not allow most trucks from the humanitarian convoy of the Akhmetov fund to reach Donbas under the pretext they were carrying certain cargo for the militia.
