Entire Kuril Islands to become priority development territory

GORKI. Dec 16 (Interfax) - The Kuril Islands will become a priority development territory, Presidential Representative to the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev said.

"The government chairman has signed the Kuril development concept. Another important issue that we have discussed and made proposals on today is to declare the Kurils a priority development territory. The whole of them," Trutnev told reporters on Tuesday at the end of a meeting of the Government Commission on the Socioeconomic Development of the Far East.
