Russia to consider bill Dec 25 on limiting gov't procurement by offshores - source
MOSCOW. Dec 17 (Interfax) - The Russian government intends to consider a bill on December 25 on banning state or municipal contracts with offshore companies, according to a letter from Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov to President Vladimir Putin sent in mid-December.
"The bill has been agreed upon by the federal executive bodies," a source familiar with the letter's contents said.
It was reported earlier that the Russian government had prepared a bill in July on limiting the participation of offshore companies in government procurement. Shuvalov also reported to Putin on this.
