Russia, Bulgaria to discuss situation with South Stream - Energy Ministry
MOSCOW. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Russia and Bulgaria are planning to discuss the situation surrounding the construction of the South Stream gas pipeline, the Energy Ministry's press service told Interfax.
"Bulgaria recently requested a meeting with the Energy Ministry. The date has not yet been determined," a representative from the press service said.
On December 1, Russia announced it was abandoning plans to build the offshore gas pipeline to Bulgaria. Russia also said it had begun a similar project to Turkey.
Nonetheless, pipe-laying ship Castoro Sei, which was supposed to begin laying South Stream, is still at the Bulgarian Port of Varna.
