Ukraine needs new military doctrine - National Security and Defense Council secretary

KYIV. Dec 17 (Interfax) - Ukraine needs a new national security strategy and a new military doctrine clearly identifying its main enemy, says Oleksandr Turchynov, the secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council.

"Despite the need to save on all resources, primarily finances, we cannot cut back on our armed forces, our National Guard, and our defense," Turchynov said at a news conference in Kyiv on Wednesday, adding that the defense budget would be discussed at a National Security and Defense Council session on Saturday.
