Putin: Attempts to violate capital amnesty guarantees to be curbed robustly

MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin vows to personally supervise the observance of guarantees and mechanisms of a capital amnesty he recently proposed and warns that those violating these terms will be punished.

"I will be personally following it [so] that no violations are committed in relation to either the mechanisms or the guarantees. And I want to warn all my colleagues, including those from the law enforcement agencies, that we will take the toughest possible measures to those who violate the principle of what I have just said," he said.

"The issue is not about returning capital, the issue is about their legalization," Putin said. "If a business wants to leave its money and property abroad, let it do so. The matter is about legalization - they should declare and register it here. This is what counts most, and I want this to be understood," Putin said.
