Putin meeting with Italy's ex-premier Prodi
MOSCOW. Dec 18 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Italy's former Prime Minister Romano Prodi on Thursday to discuss Russian-Italian relations and pressing global issues.
The former head of the Italian Council of Ministers and ex-president of the Commission of European Communities, Prodi is in Russia on a private visit, the Russian president's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said. "As you know, during his time in these offices Prodi had quite an intense and constructive dialogue with Vladimir Putin," Peskov recalled
"At today's meeting Putin and Prodi discussed the current state of the bilateral relationship, as well as the most pressing issues of the international agenda," the press secretary said.
