Ekho Moskvy editor-in-chief calls Lesin's resignation "ill-timed"
MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - The editor-in-chief of the Ekho Moskvy radio station, Alexei Venediktov, has described Mikhail Lesin's resignation as CEO of the Gazprom-Media Holding as "ill-timed".
"I am opposed to the resignation of chairman of the Ekho Moskvy board of directors Mikhail Lesin. Such a step is ill-timed ahead of a difficult year and the confirmation of the budget," Venediktov told Interfax on Friday.
The Gazprom press service reported earlier that Lesin had tendered his resignation from the post of CEO of Gazprom-Media Holding citing family reasons.
The Gazprom-Media Holding owns a controlling stake in the radio station Ekho Moskvy (Echo of Moscow).
