Putin sets task of arming ground-based nuclear forces with modern weapons before 2021
MOSCOW. Dec 19 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has set the task of arming ground-based nuclear forces with modern weapons and modernizing the entire fleet of strategic bombers before 2021.
"In the medium-term perspective - before 2021 - it is necessary to fully arm the ground-based nuclear forces with modern weapons," Putin told the Russian Defense Ministry's Collegium on Friday.
It is also necessary "to modernize the entire fleet of Tupolev Tu-160 and Tu-95MS bombers and design a new-generation strategic bomber," he added.
