Donbas militias, govt forces accuse each other of ceasefire violations; child killed in Horlivka
DONETSK/KYIV. Dec 20 (Interfax) - The self-proclaimed Donetsk people's republic (DPR) accuses the Ukrainian government forces of violating the ceasefire in Donbas at least 15 times on December 19.
"Fire was mainly directed upon the northern outskirts of Donetsk in the airport area. Our preliminary findings indicate that three civilians were injured there. The town of Horlivka was also shelled, and one child was killed," the DPR defense ministry told Interfax on Saturday.
The situation in Donetsk on Saturday morning was basically quiet, it said.
Meanwhile, the press center of the military operation being conducted by the Ukrainian government forces said on Facebook that their positions had been attacked with firearms, grenade launchers, and rocket artillery in the early hours of Saturday.
"Illegal armed units fired a BM-21 Grad multiple rocket launcher at Ukrainian soldiers in the area of Olkhovatka, and grenade launchers were used near Nikishyne," it said.
Militias also shelled government forces' positions near Sokilnyky, Opytne, Krymske, Pisky, Debaltseve, and the new terminal of the Donetsk airport, it said.
