Kazakhstan blocks over 460 extremist websites in 2014
ASTANA. Dec 25 (Interfax) - In 2014 courts in Kazakhstan barred access to a number of websites which posted extremist content.
"By the beginning of December this year a total of 18 court orders had been executed with respect to 462 Internet resources propagating terrorism and extremism," a spokesperson for the Kazakh Investment and Development Ministry's committee for communications, informatization and information told Interfax on Thursday.
In all, 128 court orders against 956 destructive websites were executed in Kazakhstan in 2011-2013, according to the committee.
"This work is carried out as part of compliance by communications operators with court orders to stop the distribution of mass media products - the internet resources which contravene the laws of the republic," the spokesperson said.
