Russia will stop being Ukraine's primary trade partner soon - PM Yatsenyuk

KYIV. Dec 30 (Interfax) - The Russian Federation will cease to be Ukraine's strategic partner soon, Ukrainian Prime Minister arsenic Yatsenyuk said.

"The volume of our trade with Russia has dropped by half. This has become a trend, this has been happening not for the first year, and Russia will actually stop being one of Ukraine's principal trade partners very soon," Yatsenyuk said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.

Russia "has never observed and is not observing a single bilateral agreement, including in the economic field," he said.

According to the Ukrainian State Statistics Committee, exports of Ukrainian goods to Russia dropped by 29.4% to $8.8 billion and imports of Russian goods to Ukraine by 41.2% to $11.21 billion in January-October 2014. Russia's share in the general structure of Ukrainian exports has declined to 19.1% and the share of imports to 24.6% over this period of time.
