Ukrainian military report militia shelling
KYIV. Jan 6 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian military have said that militiamen in the Donbas region have opened fire 16 times against their positions since this morning, using small-arms weapons, grenade and mortar launchers and artillery.
"They fired small-arms weapons against our military near the villages of Peski, Shumy, Leninskoye and Chernukhino, and grenades near Starognatovka and Granitnoye," the press center for the special operation in east Ukraine wrote on Facebook.
According to the Ukrainian military, on Tuesday militiamen "most often fired mortars." "They launched ten attacks on the populated areas of Slavnoye, Shumy, Redkodub, Debaltseve, the Donetsk airport and around Nikishino and two attacks on Leninskoye," the press center said.
Militiamen, too, fired artillery near Bogdanovka, the statement said. "A hostile sniper was operating near the village of Nikishino," the statement said.
Earlier militiamen reported several Ukrainian military attacks on Monday.
