Paris tragedy proves need to continue active cooperation in fighting terror - Russian Foreign Ministry
MOSCOW. Jan 7 (Interfax) - Moscow condemns the terror attack in the French capital and underscores the necessity for active international cooperation in countering terrorism.
"It was with outrage that we learnt about the terrorist attack in central Paris, where an attack by extremists on the office of the Charlie Hebdo magazine led to human casualties, including among journalists and law enforcement officers. We condemn this terror attack," the Russian Foreign Ministry said on its website on Wednesday.
"The tragedy proves the need to continue active cooperation in fighting the terror threat," the ministry said.
"In this difficult hour for France we offer our sincere condolences and send words of support and sympathy to the relatives and loved ones of those killed and injured by the terrorists," the statement said.
