Russia checks info on preparations made by Kyiv to resolve conflict in Donbas by force - Lavrov
MOSCOW. Jan 12 (Interfax) - Russia has information that the Ukrainian military are preparing to make another attempt to use force to resolve the situation in eastern Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We have information, very alarming information, we are now double-checking it, that the military is indeed preparing to make an attempt to use force to resolve the problem in the nearest future. It will be a disaster," Lavrov told a press conference following negotiations with his Latvian counterpart Edgars Rinkevics.
Lavrov said there is information, which Ukraine is not denying, that mobilization has been declared in Ukraine.
"They are mentioning different figures. From 50,000 to some 200,000 people are to be called up for military service," he said.
