Russia boosts wheat exports 60% in 11M to 20.1 mln tonnes - FCS
MOSCOW. Jan 13 (Interfax) - Russia exported 20.11 million tonnes of wheat and meslin, a wheat-rye blend, in January-November 2014, the Russian Federal Customs Service (FCS) said on Tuesday.
For the 11M of 2013 the exports of wheat and meslin amounted to 12.252 million tonnes, so in January-November 2014, exports rose 60%.
In value terms, the exports of wheat for the 11M rose to $4.95 billion from $3.066 million a year earlier.
Exports to non-CIS countries were the main part of exports at 19.136 million tonnes for $4.727 billion. Supplies to CIS countries amounted to 973,900 tonnes or $224.2 million.
The FCS also said that the import of grain crops to Russia in January-November of last year amounted to 868,100 tonnes at $467.9 million.
Grain and meslin imports, according to the FCS, in January-November fell to 364,300 tonnes or $86.8 million from 733,800 tonnes for $197.6 million a year earlier. The import of barley fell to 167,800 tonnes for $40.1 million from 263,600 tonnes for $88.1 million and corn fell to 44,200 tonnes for $186.3 million from 48,300 tonnes at $130.7 million in the 11M 2013.
