Artillery strikes continue in eastern Ukraine - military
KYIV. Jan 13 (Interfax) - Ukrainian forces' positions in eastern Ukraine were targeted in 47 artillery strikes on Tuesday, Maj. Gen. Bohdan Bondar, chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Main Command Center, said in the Ukrainian parliament on Tuesday.
"Eighty two artillery strikes have been launched against Ukrainian positions over the past 24 hours, including 47 since 6 a.m.," he said.
The situation is particularly serious in Stanytsya Luhanska and at the Donetsk airport, Bondar said.
The shelling has intensified around Mariupol, he said.
