Belarus former PM Myasnikovich elected head of upper chamber of Belarusian parliament
MINSK. Jan 16 (Interfax) - Members of the Council of the Republic of the Belarusian National Assembly elected Mikhail Myasnikovich to the post of head of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament.
Myasnikovich was earlier approved by Belarusian senators as the only candidate to the post.
Myasnikovich was elected unanimously by a secret vote.
The Belarusian senate earlier decided to accept Anatoly Rubinov's resignation as head of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament. Rubinov said he had made a decision to resign for health reasons.
