Contact Group could hold video conference this week - source

MOSCOW. Jan 19 (Interfax) - The Trilateral Contact Group on Ukraine could hold a dialogue via video link this week.

"The main thing now is to start from the Contact Group. A video conference of the Group members is possible this week," a Russian diplomatic source told Interfax on Monday.

The Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) negotiator at the Minsk talks, Denis Pushilin, has not ruled out a Skype conference of the Contact Group this week.

"In theory, a video conference among the Contact Group members is possible, but no one has been contacted and nothing discussed yet. So far all this is rumors in the press," he told the Donetsk news agency on Monday.

The Contact Group was supposed to meet last Friday, but the Kyiv representatives did not arrive in Minsk

Over the weekend, the situation in the Donetsk region near the Donetsk airport deteriorated severely, resulting in multiple deaths and injuries among its civilian population.
