News Media CEO gains control of Baltic Media Group - source

ST. PETERSBURG. Jan 20 (Interfax) - Baltic Media Group (BMG) has been placed under the management and control of the founder and CEO of the holding News Media, Aram Gabrelyanov, a source from BMG told Interfax on Monday.

"A meeting took place today between Gabrelyanov and management. He promised that there would not be a change in the format of our resources in the near future. All staff are continuing to work as usual," the source said.

The source added that Gabrelyanov gained financial and creative control over TV channel 100TV, Radio Baltika, the radio station Neva FM, the newspaper Nevskoye Vremya, Smena, Vecherny Peterburg and the news agency Baltinfo.

Interfax has been unable to obtain official comment from Gabrelyanov on this information.

It was reported that the founder and owner of LLC Baltic Media Group, Oleg Rudnov, died suddenly on January 9.

The News Media holding includes the newspaper Izvestia, the website and TV channel LifeNews, the radio station RSN, the newspaper Zhizn (Life) and others.
