Belarusian GDP grows 1.6% in 2014
MINSK. Jan 20 (Interfax) - Belarusian GDP grew 1.6% in real terms in 2014 to 778.5 trillion Belarusian rubles, national statistics agency Belstat said.
According to the official macroeconomic forecast for 2014, Belarus's GDP should have grown by 3.3%. The World Bank forecast that the Belarusian economy would grow 1.5% this year, but the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) forecast zero growth. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecast 1.6% growth and the Eurasian Economic Commission forecast 0.5% growth.
The Belarusian economy grew 0.9% in 2013 and 1.5% in 2012. It will grow 0.2%-0.7%, according to the socioeconomic development forecast for 2015.
The exchange rate was 14,850 Belarusian rubles/$1 on January 20.
