No imports of pork, beef to Russia so far in 2015, poultry meat imports fall 81% - AgMin

MOSCOW. Jan 20 (Interfax) - Russia this year (according to data on January 12) has still not imported pork and beef, the Russian Agriculture Ministry said in materials with reference to Federal Customs Service (FCS) data.

The import of poultry meat amounted to 54 tonnes, which is 81% less than in the same period of last year.

These indicators do not take trade with Belarus and Kazakhstan into account.

The average contract prices on poultry meat are 60% higher this year than they were in the same period of last year and amount to $3,300 per tonne.

According to the Agriculture Ministry, since the beginning of the year, beef has gone up the most in price on the meat market - the average consumer prices for this meat rose by 1.6% to 282.66 rubles per kilogram. Prices for pork rose by 0.5% to 276.83 rubles and poultry meat rose by 0.7% to 138.60 rubles.
