LPR ready for talks with Kyiv in any format, but first wants to see "positive dynamics" - negotiator
MOSCOW. Jan 22 (Interfax) - Vladislav Deinego, chief negotiator of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR), has said he is ready to discuss issues concerning the ceasefire and the withdrawal of heavy weapons during the next meeting of the trilateral Contact Group in Minsk.
"We agreed, signed and forwarded to Kyiv our plan for the withdrawal of heavy weapons from the line of contact back on January 15. However, we have not received any positive response from Kyiv. Apparently, Kyiv may change its position today. We, for our part, are ready to continue discussing the withdrawal of heavy weapons and the ceasefire. But, first we want to see positive dynamics in Kyiv's actions because Ukraine has not stopped shelling so far. Rather, it has only intensified strikes, as a result of which civilians keep dying," Deinego told Interfax.
